barns on properties - Posted by Gordon

A couple of houses I am looking at here in Sacramento have small barns (small, under 1000 sq feet, but barns and not garden sheds) in the back of small lots. Although I personally love the idea of having a barn on my property (now that I live in town I really miss having a barn) I’m thinking that the barn is a net negative. Who knows what a renter will do with a barn, and if I decide to sell in a few years it seems that it might discourage buyers who want a conventional back yard.
Anyone have ideas as to how to make this a selling point? The barns are in good shape and can be securely locked. If nothing else I could pull the barns down - the value of the wood is enough to pay for that and the cleanup.

do they have. Can they be used as a garage, to park an RV or boat inside (and out of the elements)?
