well, you can find out who’s on title simply by asking for a property profile for the subject property. there are resources such as http://www.octitle.com and http://www.netronline.com where you can do such things yourself. Of course, for a ‘chain of title’ or title history it can be obtained free of charge through a California real estate broker/agent who will usually have a good working relationship with a title company to get something more in depth.
