at tax auctions, the lowest acceptable bid would be the taxes owed. If it doesn’t sell, then the county will own it, and make other arrangements - usually another auction, later. It may be possible to contact the tax title dept, or treasurer, (state dependent) to make arrangements to buy failed-auction properties.

good luck

Has anyone ever purchased a mobile home in a tax auction? Any info on how that works? What if the bid on the MH is less than the taxes owed? Who pays the difference? What about back lot rent? If the taxes and lot rent are paid in full, do you own it outright then? There’s a tax auction coming up here and I thought I’d check it out. I confirmed with the park that each of the MH listed can stay, but she didn’t have lot rent info available (she could tell me the day of the auction, she said, as they were giving the people until the last minute to catch up). I drove by the homes, they are all decent, but only one looked empty. However, one is plenty in my mind!!

Thanks for any info you could provide, I love this site!
