I’d like to begin in saying that I have never viewed so much information on REI. It is wonderful!! I would like to know if anyone has had any success in purchasing properties through Sheriff’s Foreclosure Sales (auctions). I recently observed an auction to gain knowledge on how auctions operate. I saw one guy buy properties as low as $100 because there were no other bidders. Before actually bidding, how can you find out about liens on the property without paying a title company. I would also like to know if there are high risks involved in auctions. Also, what is the difference between bank owned properties and these properties auctioned at Sheriff’s Sales. Is there any way to buy these properties before they are auctioned at a Sheriff’s Sale?
