I am a new investor and starting with assignment of contract strategy in the state of Mississippi. Where can I find a Assignment of Contract Agreement? Also, am I responsible for providing the real estate purchase agreement also in this type of investment strategy including assignment of contract verbage? If so, where can I find a sample? Any other tips for a “newbie” would be helpful also. Thanks

Travia:

First, youmust have a legal contract in order to assign it.

Second, the contract must contain the verbage that is is assignable.

Third, the seller you are purchasing from must agree that you can assign. (This ought to raise some ruckus…much is said about assignablilty of contracts!!)

Fourth. Just starting out I would seek out a knowledgeable mentor or very good real estate attorney to guide me. This is really NOT a DIY by the seat of your pants business. You can get into some very serious very deep hot water if done incorrectly.

Start right, continue to do right and you will be successful.

I am also in MS and have been doing this since about July of 1970.
