Thanks for the info Devon. Cost of living is the same here SF, CA. I figure either my wife or I could get trained and licensed, then the licensed coud train the other.
Training in CA takes about a year too. It would be nice to keep the training in the family since trainees normally get paid beans practically. Not sure if there are any ethical issue with this idea.

Just trying to get your opinions.
Do you think it is possible for a husband wife duo in Appraisals in California. Of course this is dependant on our debt ratio, which is nil, except for our mortgage?
Can a 2 person appraisal team generally pickup enough jobs to be successful.
I’ve heard people say you can make as much as you want to work but is there enough work to support that mentality?
We’re doing pretty well REI, for newbie but we want to try expand into another area in RE.

Yes, the appraisers in our area (washington, d.c. metro) do very, very well. Obviously, if you can afford to live here The thing is though, you know that you must have a supervisor, and be a trainee, for I believe it’s a year…
