One note, if you can buy cheap, and taken account of 10% drop in rent, and vacancy rate 10% or more(?) , it might be worth wide to buy when no-one wants to buy. Like some experts said (Warren Buffet included), do opposite from what people are doing. I would imagine apt owners who in deep water now and don’t know how to get out, are every where for us to buy from at great prices and terms.

Can someone provide some latest info these markets? There are lots of supply, many vacant properties to be had. But I am not sure this is the right now to get in, as they are also tons of single family homes/condos for renting right now. Any insight?

I’d like to hear from an apartment specialist myself. You need to look at the unemployment rate, rental demand, and job growth. If all those are down, there’s no doubt that vacancy will be high.
