I am looking into an opportunity right now to acquire a hotel. It is basically shut down right now due to some bad biz from owners. I was thinking of getting this and renovating it (initial quotes are coming in pretty high to fix it up but the numbers still work).

Is it better to fix it up and get it running before selling or just fix it and sell it without it running?

I’ve financed hotels before, and unless you know anything about stabilizing a hotel, I would not reccomend this. Remember, you are talking about renovation and running a business at the same time. Also, with no experience, you will likely have a harder time getting money.
