If you did not use an attorney, you should consult one. A good RE lawyer. If you did have an attorney, give him/her a call to ask him why he/she missed this.

Just bought my first property and received a bomshell call from the building inspector today. Appartently a rear staircase from the third to second floor apartment is encroching the “airspace” of a neighbor. My inspector failed to notice this. I went to talk with the neighbor who told me he spoke to the seller about this, however the seller disclosed none of this to me. The town building inspector (who also spoke to the seller)wants this handled immediately. Has this happened to anybody else???Any suggestions greatly appreciated…
