Understand that if you were employed or contracted to collect the information, it is both immoral and (likely) illegal for you to then take the information and cirmcumvent the people who hired you and instead go directly to the bank.

So MY advice is for you to hand over the information and try to work out an agreement with your broker that you get trained on all aspects of the short sale biz and not just the collector of info.

There’s also short sale courses you can buy but I have no experience in that area. Thus, maybe someone else can assist you on that.

I work as a RE agent for a brokerage that focuses on short sales. After mailngs and door knocking I have finally generated a lead. I gathered information from the homeowner as well as a waiver to release the information. Now its time to go to the bank.

My broker wants me to hand over the info so that they can take it from there. I want to know how to do this myself so that i can eventually do this for myself and start my own business.

How can i approach the bank? Also, if anybody is doing this already independent from a broker, what can you charge?
