Advice on how to sell myself to a mentor - Posted by Esis
Posted by Esis on February 05, 2004 at 20:13:53:
This post is not in anyway soliciting anyone on this Website to become my mentor yet to get advice on how mentors think. I plan to take this information and look for a mentor in my local real estate club unless anyone has any other suggestions on good places to find mentors.
I believe that the best way for me to find a mentor is to show, how allowing me to learn from them will be mutually beneficial. I will start with a little background of myself. I graduated from college in august with a bachelor of science in real estate and urban land development. I currently work in a tax assessment office as a real estate appraiser. I want to start investing in properties now. I would also like to purchase a house for myself and would not mind this being one of if not my first investments. What I would like to know is what you look for in the perfect apprentice? What benefits are there for a mentor having an apprentice, and what could an apprentice do to help their mentor? . Any suggestions at all for me to sell myself to a mentor would be greatly appreciated.

I just heard about this group called SCORE and it is retired business people who help new people learn the business. They do it for free and it keeps them useful, and occupied. I believe the web is score.org
