As a PM, I find it problematic when the accountants do not have an adequate knowledge base of construction/remodeling; or of investor’s needs for useful analysis of expenses and job costing. They set up a chart of accounts that will cause problems for years, culminating in lost tax benefits due to improper allocations, among other things. Reliance on basic cash flow and income statements, and expense registers with little or no useful detail simply creates a lot of manual analysis, or none at all.
