A BIG BILLBOARD - Posted by mysterious

JS:

The signs are “HomeVestor” signs, which is a national franchise, but based from Dallas, Tx. That is why there is such a presence in Dallas.

HomeVestors can be one of your best friends in this business, if you go about it right. Why not capitalize on their advertising…? Take them to lunch, as they do not buy all the houses that they see, and many that they don’t buy are deals for an independent investor, with lower overhead costs… called a referral.

Almost everywhere I go in TX. I would see a giant yellow sign says ?We Buy Ugly Houses? and it looks rather annoying. It?s like they trying to take over this whole business and leave no room for little investors??

This is hilarious. My parents were down in Dallas last week on business. I was telling my dad about some junk properties I have, and he says, “There are yellow and black signs EVERYWHERE around here that say ‘WE BUY UGLY HOUSES’”.

Being that Dallas is such a tiny city, and these are everywhere, you’re probably right, they’ve taken over. I’m sure there’s no houses left for you to buy in Dallas, or all of Texas for that matter. That was sarcasm.

Now that I think of it, I have my suspicions on whose signs those are. It might be someone on this board. Care to share the phone number?

Those big billboards aren’t cheap. They are paid by the local franchise owners who then pass down the costs to the sellers.

If they buy at 55 LTV and you offer 57 LTV, you win.

I’ve seen those in FL also. Dont worry about them…just do your thing and make your money.

Dont let a bunch of billboards bother you. Run your business and make your offers on properties.

Good Luck

There are always opportunities for the small investor in this business. And I include myself in the definition of " the small investor ".

This business is about solving someones problems. Keep your ears and eyes open for people that have problems with their properties. The big yellow billboards can’t see these problems, but you can. And when you see them, it is up to you to find solutions that will solve the problem. That’s when you get paid for your problem solving ability.

No need to worry about the big yellow signs.
