Yes, a corporation has always been able to complete a 1031 exchange as long as it is selling, buying and structuring the 1031 exchange under the same corporate entity.

Is there any problem with doing a 1031 in a corporation? I have a property about ready to close and wnat to do the 1031 docs before it goes to closing. I had an attorney who was doing our 1031 documents at one time that said you could not do a 1031 in a corporation and I told him I thought that might be some wrong advice.

Whatever title you sell the property in, is the same title in which you have to close your replacement property in. For instance if you owned a property in your own name and were interested in buying a new apartment building you would first close in your name to satisfy the conditions of the 1031 and then you can immediately quit claim your interest of your replacement property over to your corporation.
