I found these numbers on the tongue of a mobile home someone wanted to give me. Can anyone tell me how to interpret what they mean. Specifically I am looking for the year manufactured; this because of moving restrictions within the city and county. Here are the numbers:
FDR2-/1469/772/SC 17/72

From memory
FDR = Front Dining Room /2 Bedroom (floor layout/model)
1469 = size 14x69
772 = production number (#772 made that year)
SC = manufacture’s code
17/72 = manufacture date (17th week of 1972)

I’m pretty sure that’s right. Is it a 14x 69? Is it a front dining room, 2 bedroom? '72 is definately the year model.

While I surely don’t know what tongue # means, I do know that the MH’s title should conttain its year of mfr.

Well, it has the kitchen/dining area in the front, then the living room. Yes it is two bedroom, and measures about 65 feet without the tongue. Sounds like you’re right on the money with everything. Wonder what SC means for the manufacturer?

The mobile home title is lost. This mobile is sitting on a piece of land and the new owner of the land wants to get rid of it. It was in the process of being rehabbed and all other identifying information was removed in the process - even the manufacturer’s label. Therefore, the reason for my question. I read somewhere on this message board that one could identify the make/model, year manufactured and mfgr by the numbers on the tongue, but I didn’t know how to tell which and what. Again, the reason for the question.
