I have POA of my uncle’s estate. We arranged him to have Medicare take care of paying his nursing home care. Question is, we want to transfer his house to a Life Estate without triggering a problem with his Medicare. Has anyone dealt with a Life Estate before. We researched this but I would like to know if anyone has done this. Any comments are welcomed. Thanks, DJ-nyc

You can use a standard deed or even a quitclaim deed granting a life estate. From a real estate perspective its simple. You need to consult an elder care lawyer, however, to make sure you do not create issues with Medicare.
