You can hold the closing anywhere that you want. In Maryland, the buyer has the sole and absolute right, by statute, to select the settlement company. Since you are in Maryland, and you are the buyer, you get to pick.
Be aware that the prior title company may be unhappy and may try to get you to pay them for work they have already done (if any).

Can I change my title company anytime before settlement if I believe they aren’t doing their job and I could save money by settling with the Banker’s title company? They said they have already done the title work and I have given them a $2500 deposit.
