Termites are very common in the southern states (where I live). The severity can range from zilch to house falling down. There is no point to standing around and feeling bad about it though, call terminex kill em off, and then call a builder that you trust to look at the damage. Keep your termite letter and builders letter on file, for future reference. Along with any doc.'s pertaining to repairs made. In my area of the country, it is actually weird to find a property that doesn’t have some kind of termite damage! So take heart!
