do not know what smud is. The tax liens remain and become the problem of the owner(s).

Foreclosure does not remove tax liens.

If it is state income tax or some other state tax it may be removed by the foreclousre. Varies state to state.

Probably the next step he foreclosure buyer will take is to file with the courts to force a sale and get the propety.

My mother and I Owned a home as joint tenants. My half sold at a foreclousure sale.There were 2 leins on my half of the house, smud and state taxes. Who is responsible for these leins? My mother? or The person that bought my Half?

i have some questions regarding late school taxes where the property was sold on a sealed bid situation. there was a $5000 cah payment prior to this leaving the sum of $1013. at the time the payment was made she was informed that the property had in fact not been put up for sale at that time. seems to me that this should have been a sufficent payment to stop the sale of the property.
