I have just been informed by a title agent that the maximum interest rate by law a seller can charge when offering owner financing is 7% in Michigan. Is this true? We were moving forward with 8.5% on a 30 year fixed and that seemed quite reasonable.

This is interesting, I just purchased a home with seller financing and am being charged 8.5 %. I live in the State of Texas, what is the max on Owner financing in the state of texas.
