I own property in 3 states, only live in one of my properties, but pay property tax(which includes the schools), on all the properties.

I have a three unit appartment building that I have been rentivating. It is located about 45 minutes away from my home and in a different school zoon. I received a bill for the PA Real Estate School tax this month. I was under the impretion that you only have to pay school taxes for the property that you live in. Is this true? Or do I only have to pay this now because there is no one living in the property durring my remodling project? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
