Not necessarily. You would need to study case law on the subject in your area. An easement is for the used stated in the grant of easement and can not be expanded without permission. Of course most all of us now have motor cars, not horse and wagons and this in itself may not mean it is ok to drive cars through the property.
This is a very interesting question. I am a land surveyor in California and would be interested in the answer.
