elp,

Unless the house is actually listed for sale, the realtor doesn’t get a vote! Make your deal directly with the owner, in this case. The realtor is just acting as a property manager. These guys can be hired and fired at the drop of a hat, depending on the contractual agreement they have with the owner.

It might be a good idea to look at the contract between them that is currently in effect. That will dictate the scope of involvement the realtor actually has.

Good luck,

Brad

Aloha,
I’m a newbie in Hawaii just getting started in L/O’s. My first deal is trying to buy the house we’re leasing now. A realtor is also the property management for the owner, who resides in Japan. The owners want to sell the house to us,(hasn’t gone on the market yet),but I read here that often the realtor will kill the deal because they want to get paid now and not wait until later as with a L/O.
Is there a strategy I can use to make my best effort to accomplish my goal, assuming I’ll have to go through the realtor?
Any advice given will be advice gratefully taken
Thanks in advance
