For tax purposes, it is quite common to have an LLC own a number of SMLLCs.

I recently set up an LLC for rental and investment properties given to me, and two others, by my grandparents. I lumped them all into one LLC. I’ve since read I should have put each under separate LLCs. I also have read that these properties must be the property of the LLC. Does that mean I have to, through a legal document, “donate” the properties to the LLC? Is there a way to have one LLC and have “subsidiaries” within the single LLC for each property?
