Jason is correct. A quit claim is just what it says. When you quit claim your rights to a property, you are giving your ownership rights to someone else and are no longer claiming ownership rights to the property. The owners of the property should be signing the quit claim and naming you and your siblings as the new title holders. This does not require any signatures from the recipients (you and your siblings) of the quit claim.

My Grandfather is to transfer property to me & my two siblings that he owned with my decease father. My step-mom insists on all of us signing a Quickclaim deed. I’ve never handled any Real Estate matters before. Is this the normal thing to sign when receiving transfered property amongst family?

If you are signing a quitclaim deed, I believe you are GIVING AWAY any interest you may have in a property.
