Go to the county records and see what liens have been recorded against the property and not released.

PS… Guess I should have given you some numbers on the deal. The owner is being foreclosed on for $106,000, the house appraises out at $115,000. The owner told the tenant that his payments are $1075 per month, but he’s only charging the tenant $925 per month!!!
Guess the first step is to find out exactly what’s owed on it, but how do I go about doing that?
