Ask if there is a contract dated April 4, 2005. There may be one. If there is, you definitely need a copy of it. If there is not one, you should correct the dates. Make sure that all parties to the contract initial the correction.

Hi,
I just recently signed an addendum to take over a property contract for investment and after signing and faxing the copy noticed it was dated incorrectly. It was dated 14 days before the original contract that the assignor executed.
Is it null and void and should I have them fix the date and re-sign the addendum.
Thanks

I am not an attorney, nor do I play one on TV.
I would question why the dates are incorrect. Are your dates correct and the original contract dates incorrect? Were they post dated? If so, why? I am not sure you have a contract. I am sure there are some people on this forum that can possibly answer this better than me. It might also help if you can give us some examples of the dates of the documents so we can tell which documents are dated when.

The original contract dates are 4/17-4/18. The addendum 3 which was to assign me the contract refers to a contract dated April 4, 2005, but with the same property address.
I appreciate your response, and I figure the addendum 3 is null and void, but I wasn’t sure.
