Real estate contracts must be in writing. Your verbal agreement isn’t worth the paper it’s not written on.

What you have is a month to month tenancy. Usually these things are terminated with 15 or 30 days or so written notice.

My husband and I have a verbal agreement with a “friend of the family” to rent for “at least” two years. One year and two months later, she wants us out so she can move in grand kids. Many other verbal promises were made on her part that we feel have not been up held. I have one child at home, another due in a few months and some pregnancy related health problems. My husband is the sole financial provider and I can not contribute at this time. We simply don’t have the money to move. Do we have any options in fighting an eviction if it comes to that?
