I am not sure that was me, Dirk (LOL).
But I guess if you want to do rehabs and you don’t know what is involved, you might want to go get elbow deep in plaster or planting trees and see if you really want to do the work yourself or hire it out. Me, I like to write checks.

However, in the vein of giving something back to the community … I think it is a great idea. Anyone who cannot or is unwilling to give money, can probably spare a day to spend with Habitat for Humanity. If you have an office you can get a bunch of your coworkers down there with you and have some fun.

Robert Shemin is a RE lecturer in Nashville that has a good program for giving a homeless family a house once a year, you can read about it at

New Rehaber’s,
Hi I was surfing last night and found the Habitat for Humanity site. http://www.habitat.org
About a month ago I believe that Sandy (FL) or someone (I can’t recall offhand) mentioned that this charity is always looking for volunteers to help rehab houses and such. Anyhow I’m sure that someone could pick up some cost effective tricks and whatnot.
Just a thought,

Dirk
