Just shows that ANY agreement is better in writing, and that orals aren’t worth the paper they’re not written on.

Acquired a mobilehome last week for the cost of transferring title. Homeowner had bought a house and couldn’t afford the lot rent and mortgage. Had advertised as free if moved or get park approval to stay. Inquired with buyer if they owed anything to park. He said yes he owed 3 months back lot rent, but that he was responsible for that. I told him I would still need ok from park. That I did not want any liens attached to home or have any problems. Well to make a long story longer he called the park and called me and said no problem I could move it. Well I wanted to confirm myself so I called the park management asked if there would be any problem. They checked with the parkowners called me back and said no problem go ahead and move it. No liens would be attached etc. During the last week I had obtained a lot in another park that I work with and do Lonnie deals in. I also lined up a mover and actually got a 500.00 down payment from a buyer. I had moved scheduled for this coming week. Yesterday I receive a call from the park manager telling me I better not move the home that the old owner owes lot rent and he had not been in to pay it yet. I replied that they had already given me approval, that I had inquired about this exact situation and was never told the move was contingent upon the old owner paying the back rent. I also told the park manager I would have never taken title to the home if I had been told this in advance and that is why I had contacted them before taking title. I told the park manager we all are going to end up in court over this. I called the old owner and told him of my conversation with the park. He called the park management today and I called the owners. Now they are saying no problem to go ahead and move it. I am going to go ahead and reschedule the move but now I have to find another buyer as I already refunded them their money due to this. If next week when I go to move it if they should suddenly go Cybal on me and change their mind again, how should I handle. As of now I got 20.00 thats it, tied up in this. I am not in the mood to go to court over this if I can avoid it. But if they play more games does it sound like I have reason to pursue this?
Thanks in advance,
Bruce
