Keep looking. there are insurance co’s that will insure the home.
On the topic of self insuring; NO way would I take on that risk. The idea of liability alone would cause me to loose sleep.

MH Insurance Problem - Posted by Freddy Wells(OK)

I have recently sold a 1968 10x60 MH to a couple and have ran into a temporary snag with insurance. The places I have spoken with do not want to insure a MH that old. Can anyone give me a name of a company I can call that does insure these older MH’s. I even thought of “self-insuring” the home. I have a note on it so I am already the banker, I figured I could be the insurance agent as well. I charged them $399 for insurance (added it to their note) for the first year. I gave $2,500 for the trailer and they put a $1,000 down. Should I find insurance for this home or should I self insure it. Any help appreciated.

Have them get an insurance policy…Foremost Insurance is a good one.
