mandatory agency disclosure form - Posted by Jack March

I am a buyer’s broker in Massachusetts. We have a “Massachusetts Mandatory Licensee-Consumer Relationship Disclosure” form, which must be presented to a potential client at the first face-face meeting and before any properties are shown or discussed at or after said f-f meeting. It discloses what our relationship will be. Do I represent a Seller, you the Buyer or am I just a Facilitator. It is a 2 page form which explains the types of relationships and the responsibilities of the agent.
Some listing brokers ask to see this signed form and I don’t konw why or if I need to show it to them!

This would be a question for your broker, but I don’t see why you wouldn’t show it to the listing broker. If you are representing the buyer, you are protecting yourself by letting the listing agent know, in writing, that you rep that buyer. If they are a Realtor, their code of ethics would now prevent them from trying to steal your client.

You’ll need to tell us a little more:

Are you a REA?

Are you the listing REA?

Are you talking about your Broker?
