Thanks Jimmy! That makes good sense. I will continue looking for an
attorney that is “elder”. I think there is no substitute for experience.

Living Trust in Los Angeles - Posted by Brad

Does anybody know if my double wide mobile home can be placed in a living
trust, without putting everything I own in that trust (“fully funding”)?

I want to protect the mobile home but I don’t want to complicate things
like bank accounts and cars.

The main reason is to prevent the State or County from placing a lien
(forcing a sale?) to repay amounts they have paid as benefits through
medi-Cal.

If anybody can recommend a lawyer in the L.A. area, who can create
such a living trust, that would be nice to know and appreciated.

A revocable living trust IS NOT an effective medi-CAL planning tool.

You need to find an elder lawyer who knows these rules. And these rules change all the time, as the federal and state agencies react to the planning schemes that are designed to thwart their liens.

Bottom Line: Get a referral to a reputable ELDER LAWYER, who may or may not also be skilled in estate planning.
