Which would be the better investment of your $$ really depends on what buyers want in your area. Look around and see if either commands a premium in the marketplace. If there’s no difference between attached and detached garage homes, consider this: Usually, it’s cheaper to insure a house with a detached garage.

Have a house on acreage that I have about decided to move into for 1-2 years. There is no garage and am going to build one.Aside from the fact that it would be faster and easier to build a detached garage can someone comment on which would add the best resale value, attached/detached?

At this point the construction cost is not really a factor as I have the material and will use a couple of guys from my crew to help.

Thanks.

on new houses people seem to like the advantage of attached in that you don’t have to go out in the rain, cold or snow! (NT) - Posted by David Krulac
