Try to move the door bolt with a putty knife pushed in along the edge of the door or find someone with a shady reputation who does this kind of entry work on a regular basis.

Hello all,
I just got a mobile home FREE! I just had to pay the cost of transfering title, but the owner doesn’t have the keys to the home. (she’s abandoned the home for about a year and I just found her)
Now, I have no idea how to get in there…do i call a locksmith? I’m sure there’s a much easier way, but can you tell me what it is…

You probably know some folks who remodel mh’s, or maybe some dealers or set-up crews. Ask each of them for copies of their pass keys. You don’t need to collect very many to get into most standard mh locks. But if the owner replaced the lock with something non-standard, you may be out of luck. Every mh investor should get their hands on a set of pass keys. It saves damaging the door jam, and makes it so much easier to inspect vacant homes.
