Darryl, I’ve had the same problems. It’s not easy to find people with upfront option money of $3000-5000. How much are you trying to get? Also, what is your housing market like now? If it’s depressed, I would not try rent to own. It’s an up hill battle. Also, the house has to be in a nice enough neighborhood that someone wants to live there long-term. I’ve found that trying to sell a house on Rent-to-own terms in a rental neighborhood is largely a waste of time.

How do you market and find rent to own people, specifically people with large option deposits? I have had a rent to own ad on craigslist for a week and nobody has replied to it, nobody. Last time I tried rent to own I had a few people try (only a FRACTION of the number of people that would have called if it were for rent only) and nobdy had any option deposit money.
