Generally, escrows like this have a due date in the document. Who is supposed to be doing the work? Has it not been done due to weather? If someone else (a business entity) is not doing the work for “just because,” you might consider reporting them to the better business bureau in your area. I have found that this lights a fire under business owners. Any time I have filed complaints with the BBB, I get results usually within a few weeks. You can file complaints with the BBB online.
We bought our home in August of this year. There was some work that still needed to get done, so our realtor drew up a document establishing $500 in escrow until the work got done. Much to my dismay, there is no “due date” on this document. It has been 2 months & no work done. Is there a reasonable amount of time that one goes by when a document like this goes without a date ? Please inform - would like to get this money back, or expidite repairs.
