Tom is right about limited information from online services. Viewing the remarks section of an MLS entry is a rich source of information. I would recommend that you befriend an agent if you want the best information. Incidentally, good information is what will make one rich in this business. John Beale has an excellent article about utilizing the MLS on this site.

Go to REALTOR.COM. Unfortunately not all areas are listed, but it is the only place I know of where you can access the MLS online.

Another drawback is that the info is limited. (no addresses, usually.)

Many thanks for the feedback on MLS online. I tried it this morning and have better access to info than the Harman Homes For Sale magazine has space to give. My banker is in commercial real estate and is my right arm in my other business. He got me a 100% finance on 81 acres of undeveloped land. He also will give me 85% on any commercial property I buy. We may sometimes have an interest in the same properties so it helps us both. He has the MLS book and also can give me tips on preforclosures. I have CS program (great!) and will be attending a free seminar by Whitney next week. I hope to learn more from this site. Thanks again.
