Help! FHA, quit claim??? - Posted by Ray
Posted by Ray on October 23, 2004 at 19:11:50:
I am a rookie needing advice. Home, in foreclosure, has an FHA mortgage. Can I pay the arrears, and have the property quitclaimed to me? Auction is 10/26. Any help is very appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, but you aren’t accomplishing anything by doing that. FHA loans are assumable, but you have to qualify for the loan with the lender before you assume it. FHA no longer has non-qualifying loans.
Email your FHA questions to FHA at the following email address. Get the right answers from them. They are VERY responsive. They will respond within 24-48 hours. This email address goes to the HUD office in Atlanta.
Good luck.
