I just finished having some floors refinished, and discovered black spots all over which would not sand out.I guess the previous inhabitasnts had a dog. or three!!
Since then I was told that oxolic acid will take out these spots?

I bought 6 duplexes about 18 months ago. One had a lady that had been in the apartment for 15 years with spraying cats. When she finally moved out (she found a boyfriend - he would go over there - I would see his car in the driveway - the stench - kaghk), the carpet dripped when we removed it. Anyway, It’s a year later, and the smell is finally gone. New carpet, kilz the walls, some smell remianed. How the new tenant put up with the smell that remained I have no idea. We replaced drywall, treated and sealed the concrete.

Another tenant moved out of another apartment after being there for 8 years. The floors were ripped up, so I had my guy go in to put tile in the kitchen, bath, and laundry room. He found a snake skin behind the refrigerator. I thought the smell was dog smell - guess not.
Then, the next day as he was finishing and the carpet guys were there, he called back to tell me they found a live ball python under the frig. I called the former tenant and she said she had lost him 12 months ago.

It creeped the guys out, but the place smells fine, now.

who apparently relieved himself in the center of the living room floor (wall to wall carpet) every day for 13 years! After ripping up the carpet, pad, carpet tacking etc. and sanding the floors, they were still wet with urine. It soaked through the floor and the subfloor into the basement and caused a mold problem in the basement. after weeks of fans and dehumidifiers the wood was dry and could be refinished. The hardwood floors were never the same and the color in he center of the room was much lighter from the daily acid baths.

Which was the good pet?LOL!!(nt) - Posted by dewCO
