Unless you know a lot about real estate contracts, you might want to get advice from a real estate attorney about the contract you intend to use. Some people do not know that you can add and/or delete items to/from a preprinted contract. A RE attorney can advise you as to items that should and should not be in the contract, to protect you as the seller. It might be worth paying a couple hundred dollars to do this up front.
My husband and I are considering selling our home on our own for the first time. Our question is - when selling your house FSBO, using a Real Estate Attorney to process the paperwork, when does that Attorney need to become involved? Should we comission someone before a monetary offer is negotiated, or after a sales price has been decided on?
