Hello,
I’m a part time real estate investor with a day job. I would like to setup a part-time business, some Acquisition & Management company. My goals are to be able to get tax write-offs for my real estate related activities (such as travel) and to protect my assets.
Currently, my properties are outside of the state I live in and have property management companies managing them.
-What type of structures would be recommended, in order to meet my goals? (i.e. an LP as a main company and an LLC for each of the properties as subsidiaries to the LP?)
-What type of role would those property management companies play in my business structure?
-Will they be considered contractors?
-Is this even a good idea??
Please advise…
