First American or Dataquick ? - Posted by Hank FL

You can have it either way - CD or internet. But I use internet so I will always have the latest info. I pay $100/mo for one county in GA. And that’s the only county I have access to. That’s what I dont’ like about it. As far as I know, SiteXData charges per search and you have access to any data they have all over the country, which is why I would switch to them because I don’t always work in my one county.

My contract is up with First American data services and I’d like tp know your opinions on who you like better for comps, mortgage information, mailing lists and the like.

I’ve almost switched twice to dataquick but for some reason never did.

I’d like some feedback from here before I call Dataquick and get the pitch.

If you wanted to do a onetime purchase of a mailing list (out of state owners) which one would you go with?

Thanks,

Leon

I was thinking of switching to SiteXData when my contract is up in Feb. Check it out.

If you don’t need everyday access, then there’s a whole world of places to go.

Try google.

Or try Mellisa data.com (SP?)

Perhaps a title company will put a few thousand absentee owners on a disk if you tell them that they will be closing your deals.

Your county tax office might even give you that info printed or on disc for a very reasonable price.

There’s quite a list of places to get lists.

Whitney houston.

I just received the pricing schedule from these guys.

WHOA !

Right now I’m spending $100.00/month for my county.

As you know Chris, Win2 will give you unlimited comps and mailing addresses for that price. Well, it’s going up 10% in 2004.

Anyway, for what I do, I’d be spending about $1000.00/month with these clowns.

[That’s 10x more for you people in Palm Beach County.]

How does this company stay in business with such an uncompettitive price structure ?

Next stop: Dataquick

Last year, Datquick had better pricing than FARES, but they didn’t have the services I wanted for my county.

Perhaps this year they will.

======================DISCLAIMER======================

At this time I’d like to take the opportunity to say that I have no real knowledge of anyone working for SiteXData that is using drugs. SiteXData seems to be a fine company.

I’d also like to add that I have no idea whether Whitney Houston is, in fact, on crack cocaine.

Ms. Houston, after all, has gone on record saying:

“Crack is whack!”

So that pretty much convinces me she’s clean.

Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

I sent them an e-mail, but I may not be hearing back fom them 'till after Christmas.

What do you know about them ?

Price ?

CD-ROM or internet ?

Can the comps service be “tweaked” ?

Can one compile mailing lists?

Labels ?

Don’t really know, but alot of people have said it’s good. I have to look into it more.

I thought you said you bought Locke’s course. I haven’t seen you on his forum yet.

I’ll make it over there.

There’s just sooooo many REI sites out there these days.

I concerned with the dilution affect.

I forgot, what data service are you using now ?
