People at title companies can vary in their experience, competency, intelligence, training, customer-satisfying just like in any other business.

Get referrals from experienced people in your area. If you know some agents, ask them. Or other investors. You will probably find that there are plenty of good escrow officers in your area. I would recommend that you inquire about experience. I would not want to use somebody who does not have at least 5 years experience.

I used to use one woman who probably had over 25 years experience. She recently retired. She sat there smoking a cigarette almost all the time I was there. I just made sure to sit upwind from her.

What should I look for when finding a Title Company?

I plan to do a double closing, but is there anything else I need to know when looking for a Title Company? Do I need to shop around for one or will any one do?
