I don’t know what the law requires, but I can tell you that my bank required an EIN in order to open an account under the name of the LLC. You might want to check with your bank.

I am a new investor. I am forming an LLC in which to hold properties. (I already have an LLC for another, unrelated business). Do I also need to fill out a federal SS4 and get an FEIN? If so, how specific do I need to be about the business activities? (I would like to retain some flexibility - also I don’t like telling Uncle Sam about everything) Does anyone know what NAICS code would apply to real estate investing?
