CYA is a philosophy, not a specific form or technique. “Cover Your Assets” is the “G” rated version of the saying. It is a matter of looking out for potential liablities, steering away from them, getting assets away from liabilities and in general just protecting yourself.
That philosphy is what leads investors to use trusts or corporations and physicians to use “professional corporations”.
