The reason I came up w/this approach is to not p_ss people off by messing w/their windshield wipers.
A little (and I do mean little) bit of tape on the window (not paint) of a car should pose no problem.
All the car owner has to do is lift up on my little “card” to remove the bugger.
I think it’s an improvement on full sized fliers that one must place under sometimes delicate wipers that end up all over the parking lot making a big mess.

Avery also has free software for this for use with their business card templates(worth buying). Go to their website and see if you can download it.

… He says that one can distribute more fliers by
… doing cars beacause they are closer together than
… houses. One can get more messages out per hour.
And you can deliver more by dropping thousands per hour using a helicopter, but it doesn’t make it right.

Don’t put tape on my car! I’ll be more than annoyed. Once you need to use adhesives on my personal property, I can assure you annoyance will turn to aggression. I’d be calling authorities right there from my cell phone, asking them to check out the taping to other vehicles.
Fliers on the windshield, etc. are annoying, of course. But I can ignore them because they are the norm. Tape is not the norm. Why go there?
Sincerely, Kristine

Neither one of these types of advertising is ok by the owner of the vehicle. Do you really want your phone number on paper ‘taped’ to someone’s car, who may not like what you did?

I said to myself I was through answering these posts last night, but I can’t let this garbage hang out there unanswered.
So Tim, I guess you don’t:
Take an aggressive tax stance
Ask a seller to refinance in order to pull money out before you take the house sub2.
Use bandit signs
Lease a house with option to buy to a guy that your gut tells you will never convince a bank to finance him, but – his application form checks out, and he does have that 5k in non refundable option condiseration.
Call up a prospect after 5:00 pm dinnertime 'cause you know, that would be wrong.
Well I’m off to go evict a little old lady right before Xmas for non payment. Then I think I’ll turn on my 350 watt “F-you, Hank buys houses, F-you” Hank-o-horn that’s on top of my van while I drive around quiet neighborhoods. Then I may fire thousands of hot pink fliers out of my cannon into gated communities. Then I figure I’ll head down to the Mugs & Jugs and pay the strippers for painting “Hank Buys Houses” on their @sses.
All the while my F-you autodailer will be grinding out the goodwill.

Gift wrap tape leaves no residue. I’m not talking about heavy duty, sticky, gooey stuff here.
Less than 1/5 of an inch will touch any driver side window.
There will be no picking at the tape with one’s fingernail to get it off because it’ll come off with the “card”.
Messing around with winshield wipers that sometimes can be rather delicate seems to be the worse option.
This really isn’t a big deal.
Being a hyper sensitive person that calls the police over a business card and a microscopic bit of clear tape is wasted energy. And besides - the cops will not care about your complaint.

Looks like you will not listen to the multiple voices of experience here.
So when (not if) you get to small claims court you can tell the judge “no harm done”, he is lying that his power windows worked before I stuck stuff on his windows … etc.
Learn the hard way since you insist.

Some or even most people might find this annoying.
Bandit signs, telemarketing, and some guy knocking at your door might also be annoying.
I guess I don’t care.
I care about that guy with the deadbeat tenant who has to make that $1100.00 payment in a week. He just might lift up my message and stick it to his dashboard.
And when I mean a little tape I’m talking about just enough to keep it there for an hour or two.
No harm done.

Who the heck is going to leave this message on their window.
Then it’s going to blow the power window to hell.
That’s pretty far out there.
How about some guy saying his windshield wipers didn’t work after the evil Hank put a flier under it. That’s why he crashed into the school bus.
Or how about some guy saying he crashed into the school bus because he was reading a bandit sign.
Or an incoming sales call from Hank the exuse maker distracts this other guy and he crashes into the bus.
Door hangers - nope, can’t do that either. What right do I have to put an ad on some one’s personal property. And I’d probably get my @ss kicked by a pit bull.
I could knock on some pre-foreclosure doors…Hmmm… no thanks, stalking people in distress is pretty obnoxious, and with all the people on drugs these days that could be very dangerous. I just might get my @ss kicked.
Well,I guess that leaves direct mail, right? Nope. Licking envelopes causes cancer - and those papercuts…

No harm done unless I see you then one of us is going to have a bad day !! There is nothing that p@sss me off more than to get to the car and see someone has messed with it, and a taped sign would fit that bill.
Vandalism comes in many forms and taping anything to a persons car would prob. be just that in many peoples eyes.

Your response sure is Idiotic. Be sure to tell the judge that you @ 210# are going to kick his/her @ss. Success awaits you in the slammer, no doubt.

If seeing a little card taped to your window of your car or the front door of your house sends you into a rage then I’d say that there is something else that is bothering you.

What the heck are you going on about?
I’m now threatening to beat up judges?
My post was a take-off on your post where you pointed to a very unlikely scenario as a reason for not doing the card to window thing.
So I came back with other things that are unlikely to happen as to why we shouldn’t use bandit signs, phone calls, door hangers, door knocking and even direct mail.
I was illustrating absurdity with absurdity.
I even threw in how I’m going to meet my demise doing some of these things.
Bill -lower down in the thread- seems to think my @ss will be kicked all over the parking lot when I do this.
I’d say if my posterior is still intact after knocking on the drug dealer/user, wife beater, insane, ex-con pre-foreclosure doors this past year, I think I’ll survive the parking lot of Lord & Taylor.
I don’t know where this judge thing came from.
Wierd.

I would suggest hiring a couple of High School kids to tape peoples windows, then you wont be the one to get your a** kicked.

A business card with just enough scotch tape sticking over the top of the card to make it stick.
Most of the tape is on the card.
Less than a centimeter touches the window and comes off when the card is removed.
No harm done … unless you’re a psycho.
I’m a lean 210 lb former lunatic from NY, so I’m not worried about getting my @ss kicked.
Thanks for the concern though.
Check Local Ordinances - Posted by TCR_Va

Hank,
I don’t know where you live exactly. The laws are a bit stern where I live. What you are suggesting could be viewed as ‘Tampering with an Auto’ which is a violation of law. As a suggestion, you might want to check your local laws before doing so.
In addition, most malls and shopping centers here DO NOT allow people to post any solicitations or ads on cars in the lots. They WILL call you and tell you to come and remove them or they will charge you for the clean up.
