Whenever I get back, which is usually once or twice a year, I am amazed at the home prices in Central IA, compared with when I moved away! In my part of NY, I can buy three or four houses for what one house sells for in the Hwy. 6 corridor.
If I recall correctly, Huxley is a fairly small town – or at least it used to be small – about halfway between Des Moines and Ames.
There must be some sort of investor/landlord organizations in one or both of those cities, though I can’t find any listings at the moment. Try the phone directories and the newspapers, looking under the listing of community groups, or something similar. Or if not, maybe you should start one!
