The seller has already change the contract close date and now she wants to change it again. It is now impacting me since I have to be out of my current house. Why does she have so much say since this is a short sale? Can I hold her to the contract close date? I’m buying in NY.

Seller can be required to close as per her P & S Agreement and her failure to do so might cost her additionally in your court costs, damages, attorney fees and penalties if you are required to file a Specific Performance Action to make her do it.
If I were you I’d have my lawyer send her a lawyer’s letter spelling all this out so as to hasten her along.
