They broke several laws. You say a few years ago so some of their violations may have passed the limit of the statute of limitations.

My suggestion is to file a formal complaint with the real eatate licensing authority in your state, right now and I mean now.

Secondly, check with a real estate attorney, most will give you a free 30 minute consultation and see how you stand at the present.

Hi,
I’m going through a lot of problem with an appartment i purchased a few years ago. I was shown a place that the agent claimed was their exclusive. They represented themselves are being a seller agent. I liked the appartment but i need some time to think and look around. Finally i came back and tried to give them an offer. The agent got really nasted and claimed she wouldnt negotiate because she works for the owner. After we finally gave her our offer. She called back the next day and claimed that the offer was accepted and that we need to pay her commission of 5% which was not negotiable because the price of the appartment was low. And i can either take it or leave it. Plus they claimed they had other offers before us and that our offer is a backup offer. Which was a complete lie. I came into their office to complain to the broker and he was no help. Telling me to sign a commission aggreement with them if i want the apartment and the disclosure form. They only gave it to me after 3 showing and after the offer was accepted. Does anyone know what laws they broke. and do i have a good chance against them in court???
